New City Pools Opening this Summer
Get out the SPF 45 and bathing suits, its time to beat the summer heat by the pool! Several new City pools are scheduled to open this summer, including Cannon and Shadle Park pools on Monday, July 6 and Comstock and Hillyard on Saturday, August 1.

These new City pools are made possible though the 2007 Parks Improvement Board funding. After much debate, the Park Board recently passed a difficult vote requiring a fee for swimmers. Costs are $1 per day per child or $15 per child for the entire season, 7 days a week.

Understanding the fee will be a hardship to many children, Parks and Recreation are looking for businesses to sponsor a child to swim for the summer.  Only $15 allows a local child an entire summer of fun at all Spokane pools, and every supporting business will receive formal recognition.

If you are interested in sponsoring a child, please contact the Parks and Rec Department at 625-6200.  For more information on City pools and aquatics, visit SpokaneParks.org.
