Why: Starlight Children’s Foundation, Spokane, Washington will be the recipient of ticket sales. and a VIP pre function, from an upcoming concert event, Emerald Legacy. The Greater O’Neill Family of Spokane, Washington, has planned an evening of Irish Folk music, popular tunes from the Doo Wop era to Inde music, a variety of music for all age.
Beth Ann Long, local real estate professional and popular musician learned of the work of `Starlight in Spokane, during an informational breakfast in April 2008. Long’s compassion was touched to the point of organizing, along with her family of musicians, located throughout the West Coast, an Evening with the Greater O’Neill Family, the Emerald Legacy Concert. The O’Neill family plans to come home to the Inland Northwest during the Thanksgiving holiday to make a difference in the lives of families served by Starlight.
Susan Faltermeyer, Starlight Development Officer, states, “I’ve been involved with non-profit development work in Spokane for years, and I’ve never encountered a family so generous in time, talent and treasure. Starlight is extremely fortunate to benefit from the O’Neill’s dedication to changing the lives of seriously ill children and their families. Emerald Legacy will be one of the Thanksgiving weekend highlights for the families we serve and the public.”
Starlight has been helping seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities in the Inland Northwest for more than five years.
