Indians return home for five-game homestand against Eugene
Spokane, WA - 07/02/08 -The Spokane Indians return from the road tomorrow to face the Eugene Emeralds in a five game homestand at Avista Stadium. The Indians are 11-4 as of today and have a two game lead on Tri-City in the Northwest League East.
The Indians have a great lineup of special events all homestand long!
July 3rd - Cheesy Noisemaker Night (Presented by Kokanee, Kraft Foods, Yoke's Fresh Market, KAYU FOX 28 and 95.3 KPND)... All fans will receive a box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese to use as noise makers throughout the game. After the game, 2nd Harvest Food Bank will be at the exits collecting any boxes people choose to donate.
July 4th - 4th of July Fireworks Night (Presented by Comcast)... Celebrate Independence Day at Avista Stadium with 4th of July Fireworks after the game. A special helicopter fly-over and flag presentation courtesy of Fairchild Air Force Base will be featured in the pre-game celebration.
July 5th - B-I-N-G-O Night (Presented by Coeur d'Alene Casino and 101.1 FM)... Watch baseball and play BINGO at the same time! Play baseball bingo throughout the game and you could win great prizes including a new digital camera.
July 6th - Smokey Bear Night (Presented by US Forest Service and Rock 94 1/2)... The US Forest Service will be giving away Smokey Bear Bobbleheads and other prizes throughout the game. Make sure to get your photo taken with Smokey Bear!

Spokane, WA - 07/02/08 -Ride your hog and support the Inland Northwest Chapter of MDA at the same time on July 5th with the Ride the Bases motorcycle ride!
The ride starts at Shumate Harley-Davidson (1st base), makes two other stops at 2nd and 3rd base and ends at Avista Stadium (Home plate) for a post-ride party and great baseball as the Indians take on the Eugene Emeralds. Riders will check-in at 10 a.m. and the ride begins at 12 p.m.
The cost of the ride is $35 per rider. Each rider receives a ride t-shirt, an all-you-can-eat buffet, live music, a ticket to the Indians game and a $10 donation to MDA in their name.

Spokane beats Tri-City 1-0 in 13 innings; Indians in first place in NWL East
Spokane, WA - 06/29/08 - It was another pitching battle between the Spokane Indians and the Tri-City Dust Devils. The two teams went scoreless for 13 innings before a Joey Butler single to right scored David Paisano from second to win the game 1-0 (game stats).
With the win, the Indians gained sole possession of first place in the Northwest League East with an overall record of 9-4. The Dust Devils are now one game behind the Indians in the division.
The Indians bullpen was on fire all night, allowing only four hits for the duration of the game and striking out 16. Reliever Ryan Schlecht picked up the win for Spokane while pitching the last three innings.

Spokane beats Tri-City 7-5 (game stats); both tied for first place in NWL East
Spokane, WA - 06/28/08 - The Spokane Indians got off to a rocky start, but finished strong down the stretch and beat the Tri-City Dust Devils 7-5 Saturday night at Avista Stadium. With the win the Indians are in a tie with Tri-City for first place in the Northwest League East Division.
The Indians got in a hole early, committing three errors and allowing four runs in the first two innings. Unfazed, Spokane responded and scored in the bottom of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings to jump to a 7-4 lead.
The Fireworks continued after the game with an incredible, extended real fireworks show presented by The Spokesman-Review in honor of their 125th Anniversary.
Indians starter Martin Perez lasted only two innings. Fielding errors led to the four hits and four runs he gave up, only one run was earned by Perez. Tim Murphy, the third round pick of the Texas Rangers this year, picked up his first professional win. He went three innings, allowing only one hit and struck out three. Trevor Hurley picked up his first save of the season.
Outfielder Tim Rodriguez finished 2 for 4 on the night with three RBI. Rodriguez also had a double, which contributed to the five doubles the Indians hit tonight. Outfielder Joey Butler continued his hitting hot streak, finishing the night 2 for 3 with a double. Butler is now batting .481 on the season.
The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow for the series finale of the three game homestand against Tri-City. Spokane drops series opener to Tri-City in pitching duel
Spokane, WA - 06/27/08 - It was a pitching dual Friday night at Avista Stadium, and the Spokane Indians didn’t have enough gas in the tank in the 9th to come away with the win. After scoring one run in the bottom of the 9th and with the bases loaded, the Indians were unable to drive in the tying run and fell 2-1 (game stats).
Entering the game, Tri-City and Spokane were ranked one and two respectively in the Northwest League in pitching. It wasn’t a surprise then that no runs were scored until the 9th inning when the Dust Devils went up 2-0.
Indians starter Neil Ramirez went six innings, allowing only one hit and fanned seven Dust Devils batters. Right-handed reliever Matt Nevarez worked the final three innings and picked up the loss. Dust Devils starter Juan Nicasio went five innings, allowed two hits and struck out nine.
Outfielder Joey Butler drove in the Indians only run on the night. He finished two for three bumping up his season batting average to .458.
The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow for the second game of the three game homestand against Tri-City. Tomorrow night is Fireworks Night, presented by The Spokesman-Review. The Fireworks show will be extended to help celebrate the 125th Anniversary of The Spokesman-Review. In addition, fans who wear their Hoopfest t-shirt get in to the game for only $5. Spokane wins series finale with Everett; will take on Ems tomorrow in Eugene
Spokane, WA - 06/21/08 - The Spokane Indians may not have had that many hits, but they had plenty of runs tonight as they beat the Everett AquaSox 5-2 (game stats) in the series finale. The Indians had six hits, and along with five runs picked up their third win of the season.
The Indians’ David Paisano hit a 1-0 pitch off Everett’s Kenta Suda (0-1) and sent it over the left field wall, scoring Jacob Kaase and Cody Podraza in the bottom of the 4th.
The Indians then cruised to the victory with four innings of near spotless relief pitching by Yoon-Hee Nam and Ryan Schecht. Spokane’s starter Wilfredo Boscan picked up his second win of the season on five innings of work.
Outfielder Joey Butler continued his hot streak, going 2-3 on the night.

Spokane will celebrate Avista Stadium 50th Anniversary tomorrow night
Spokane, WA - 06/20/08 - The Spokane Indians put up 15 hits, eight runs and along with excellent pitching, were able to down the Everett AquaSox 8-3 (game stats) tonight in front of a standing room only crowd of 6,827 at Avista Stadium. The Indians evened their record on the season to 2-2.
The Indians went up 4-1 on an Eric Fry home run, his second on the season, scoring Matt West. Fry finished the night 1-4 with two RBI.
Indians starter Carlos Pimentel (1-0) lasted five innings, allowing just two hits and one run. Richard Bleier, the 6th round draft pick of the Rangers in this year’s MLB First Year Player Draft, was stellar in three relief innings, allowing only one hit with three strikeouts.
Joey Butler opened up the bottom of the 6th with a triple; he was then driven in by a Jacob Kaase single. With the bases loaded, Everett’s Marquis Pettis walked Doug Hogan, scoring Jared Bolden and securing the win for the Indians.
The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow for the five game home stand finale against Everett.
